Week 5

Water textures

Natural water textures and colours. Inspiration for development ideas and tests for colours, reflections and textures

Croatian Pavillion - expo 2008 Zaragoza

This unknown artist has accomplished this effect with the use of projection in a white room.

I like the idea of this room looking like its underwater. The projection shows a good effect of underwater ripples. This room seems very calming and relaxing. I want to try and create this effect but by using natural light instead of artificial light. I want my room to be authentic.

Shioyasu Tomoko

This work by Shioyasu Tomoko is called waterfall. This installation created through cutouts on tracing paper, has been displayed in four different shifted layouts in the room to create a waterfall effect.

By using tracing paper you are able to show light coming through. I like this effect and think it would be an interesting element to explore and test. By this artist using tracing paper and adding cutouts on the piece it gives a beautiful relaxing water like effect. I also like the idea of the four different strips shifted in the room to create the effect of falling water.

Baptiste Debombourg

The effect of the glass crackling to look like water of a shore of water is every effective. I like how the surface is reflective and see through to give the effect of moving water.
